The Conservatives are at it again with anti-worker bill!
June 6, 2013 - 2:00pm EST
Stephen Harper and the Conservatives have already rammed Bill C-377, an unconstitutional piece of legislation that will drown unions in wasteful and ineffective reporting requirements, through the House of Commons. Apparently they aren't satisfied with that and now the Conservatives have introduced a new Bill, C-525, which is designed to attack Canadian workers and their right to organize. The Conservatives are pursuing their effort to drive down wages for working people.

Most disgustingly, the government is trying to hide its anti-worker and anti-union agenda through private members bills. This time, it's Blaine Calkins who's doing the dirty work. Like for C377, we suspect that the shots are being called directly by the Prime Minister's Office.

New Democrats and the vast majority of Canadians believe that people should have the right to choose whether they want to be represented by a strong union. Unions help give millions of Canadians the right to work in good paying, productive jobs that benefit workers, employers, and the economy-at-large.

Canadians don't want the Conservatives to import any more anti-worker legislation from radical Republicans in the United States. New Democrats will fight this bill every step of the way!

New Democrats will be releasing a petition against Bill C-525 over the next few days.
