WE, THE MEMBERS OF C.A.W. LOCAL 1451 WOULD LIKE TO WISH OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE CANADIAN AUTO WORKERS AND THE BROADER LABOUR MOVEMENT, ALL THE BEST IN THE FUTURE. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT FUTURE LOOKS BLEAK RIGHT NOW AND MANY OF YOU WILL FOLLOW US INTO UNEMPLOYMENT.

RETIREES MEETINGS 2009 - every 3rd Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM For the foreseeable future, these meetings will be held, as usual, at our local union hall.

Please note that if you are in your 59th year, you must apply for Canada Pension Plan (CPP). In order to receive your CPP effective on your 60th Birthday, we suggest you begin the application process at least six months before your 60th Birthday. You can do this by going online and using the link below, you can apply electronically or use the following telephone numbers. You must also apply for your Old Age Security in the same way during your 64th year.

The online process for applying is fairly simple if you have limited computer skills. You must have access to a printer so that you can print off the page that requires your signature and then send that page by mail to the Canada Pension Plan offices..
