Chairman of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame writes in support of Museum! "[PDP's strategy was] developed without public participation and with blatant disregard for Canada's aviation heritage."
Save the Air & Space Museum
Did you know... de Havilland Aircraft Canada supplied more than 17% of allied aircraft during the Second World War. SPAR Aerospace, the maker of the Canadarm -- Canada`s biggest contribution to space technology -- began in Building #1 and assembled Canada's first spacecraft - Alouette I - and built the innovative STEM antenna for satellites in the building. The building was assigned the status of Recognized Federal Heritage Building in May 1992 because of its historical associations, and its architectural and environmental value. This means that it is a federal building to which the Minister of Environment has assigned the highest heritage designation and it has to be protected. Canada has 20 aerospace museums. The United States has 360. Sheila Fraser, FCA Auditor General was concerned back in 2002 as too how PDP was operating and spending tax payers money
